Division

Three facts I found interesting about ANZAC.

Today I read 21 facts obout ANZAC, here are three things I found intresting

1. The wearing of rosemary on ANZAC Day is done as a mark of respect for the men who never returned from Gallipoli, or indeed, later wars. The wearing of it honours the memory of those brave men.

I never knew that rosemary is also wore on ANZAC day but from reading this fact I learnt that rosemary is a mark of respect who never returned. Now I know why some people wear rosemary on ANZAC day.

2. The original Anzac biscuit was known as an Anzac wafer or tile and was part of the rations given to the ANZAC soldiers during World War I. They were included instead of bread because they had a much longer shelf life.

When I read this fact I was suprised that this ANZAC wafer has much longer shelf life.

3. The Gallipoli Peninsula is very near the famous ancient city of Troy.
This fact sounds interesting, I didn't know that Gallipoli is near the acient city of Troy.

Harry's War

Today I read a graphic novel called Harry's War by Mark Derby and illustrated by Andrew Burdan. I really enjoyed the graphic novel. I enjoyed reading graphic novels because you can the also see what
they are doing, who they are and where they are.

This story is about a man name Harry who was picked to be in the war. He had tough days while he was at the war. In the story he said he that the army treated the soldiers as if they were sheeps in a pen.

What I learnt from reading this story is its very tough being in the war, soldiers train most of the days and they don't have a lot of sleep.

The army had carved a kiwi into the chalk hillside.

Man accidentally ejected himself from plane

A 64-years-old man accidentally ejected himself from a fighter jet.
The force was in take off, when the force was in take off it made the man "float"off his seat, causing him to stand up and then he grabbed a handle which he must've not know it was the ejection handle then accidentally pulled the ejection handle. His seat with him on it launched up into the sky. His parachute deployed, luckily there was a nearby field. He landed there avoiding no serious injuries.
