What is an earthquake? Earthquake is a violent shake that comes from the ground and the buildings crash down. Why do earthquakes happen? When the tectonic plates converging and diverging form the crust,and when there is water on top of the crust it's called oceanic and if its a continental plate it mean it has land on top. Crust - plates - converging, diverging and continental and oceanic Where do Earthquakes happen? It always happen in the Ring of fire, the fault line around the Ring of fire fight over and makes earthquakes. Ring of fire Examples of Earthquakes What is the impact of Earthquakes? When the movement of two tectonic plates it cause Earthquake and Tsunami. Landslides - is when there is a mountain and rocks or dirt slides down it will hit the road or houses. Liquefaction - Liquefaction happens when water comes up from the ground. What happens to cities and buildings - some of the buildings fall when they tall when there is earthquake, cities can get flood and the buildings there also fall. What happens to people - some people get injury and it is always good to bring first aid kit for anyone hurt or injured. Tsunamis - tsunami happens when two tectonic plates fight and it gives the water energy and cause tsunami. What was the strongest earthquake ever? With a magnitude and a richter scale, you can measure the earthquake by richter scale a richter scale is like how strong the earthquake is, and the magnitude can measure how strong the earthquake.
