Genomics

\Genomics
Fill in the blank words. All the answers are in the text.
All living things on earth, from the tiniest creatures to the tallest of trees, are made of Microscopic parts called Cell.

Inside the cell, membrane cells have smaller parts called Organelles.

Vacuoles are basically Storage tanks that the cell uses to hold water or other materials.

Chloroplasts are found only in plant cells and contain Chlorophyll, the substance that allows photosynthesis to take place.

Answer these questions about the text
What is a cell? Cells are the basic structure they are composed of.
What things have cells in them? Animals, plants and humans
What allows photosynthesis to take place? Chlorophyll
What is photosynthesis? The process which green plant use to make their own food
What are shaped like tiny balls but work like tiny factories? Ribosomes
What is an ER? It’s a transportation network
What happens when the plant does not get enough water? Their vacuole will start to shrink and the plants begins to wilt
What are Organelles? It’s like tiny organs and they each do specific jobs inside the cell
What do cell walls do for plants? The cell walls provide support for the plant to keep growing and to keep it in shape, also the cell walls are stronger and tougher than the membrane
What is the powerhouse of the cell? They take food and turn into energy for the rest of that cells use

Today I learnt about Genomics and the blue texts are my answers
